At the foot of Cadair Idris – in the heart of the Snowdonia
National Park – lies the old market town of Dolgellau. The Welsh gold rush of
the 19th Century saw hundreds of men taking to the hills above the town. The
mines now stand empty but the pioneering spirit of those Victorians can still be
felt today. From a small team of archaeologists who’ve made a big
discovery... one man fighting to keep our musical traditions alive...and a group
of nuns who’ve swapped the comforts of modern life for the four walls of a
monastery. You may not find gold in Dolgellau anymore – but this community
still knows a thing or two about holding on to what you believe in.
